Many residents in the South Como neighborhood, which was formerly part of the District 6 Planning Council that is centered around Rice St. in the North End, felt their local issues aligned more closely with the issues that came before District 10 Community Council. In 2013, after community input, the boundary was officially changed allowing residents surrounding Como Park the opportunity to participate in common public processes that impact their neighborhood. In addition to championing the discussion for hearing the community’s voice on this specific change, Amy sponsored a new ordinance that was enacted to better define the process for residents seeking future District Council boundary changes.
